Amy Moore
Owner & Artistic Director
Amy Moore has been the proud owner and director of Studio 56 Dance Center for 25 years, creating a place where dancers can grow not only in skill but in confidence and character. With over 35 years of training and more than two decades of teaching, she has shared her love of dance with thousands of students and families.
Amy has performed and trained across the country—from Los Angeles to New York—with renowned companies such as Tremaine, The Edge, Backstage, and the Martha Graham School. She is also a former Utah Jazz Dancer and has choreographed for high schools, pageants, Ballet West, junior dance companies, and award-winning soloists. Certified in Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) and Acrobatic Arts, Amy brings a wide range of expertise to the classroom.
As a lifelong learner, Amy is committed to professional growth. She regularly attends owner conventions and leadership trainings and is a proud member of the More Than Just Great Dancing!® organization, connecting Studio 56 to a network of excellence in dance education worldwide.
Beyond the stage, Amy’s greatest joy is her family. She is a proud mom to two amazing kids, Tyler and Lilly, and wife to her supportive husband, Dusten. Together, they are at the heart of the Studio 56 family and the thriving community she continues to build.

Janie Hoyt
Customer Care
Meet Janie Hoyt! Janie is the operations manager here at the studio and absolutely LOVES it! She enjoys helping to “make the magic happen” behind the scenes.
Janie attended Utah State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Family Consumer Human Development. After college, she moved back home to manage the Bountiful Swig where she gained experience and a love for leading and managing.
Janie now lives in North Salt Lake with her Husband Tim, dog Sullivan and cat Mindi. She enjoys warm weather, traveling, and mostly being with her family and friends. Janie can’t wait to share with you her love of Studio 56 Dance Center. She feels lucky to be a part of such a wonderful dance community and family.

Candace Rock
Customer Care
Ms. Candace helps keep our front desk running smoothly with her organization, creativity, and welcoming personality. She loves connecting with families, getting to know each dancer’s unique quirks, and making sure everyone feels at home in the studio.
Outside of the studio, Candace works as a pharmacy technician at Intermountain Health. She’s also a proud wife and mom of three amazing kids, and in her free time she enjoys reading, crafting, and finding little ways to add creativity to her everyday life. Candace may not be on the stage, but she’s always cheering behind the scenes and loves supporting every dancer’s journey.

Tristana Black
Company Ballet Instructor
Tristana is originally from Colorado, where she had the privilege to study many forms of dance from a young age, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern. In 2012 Tristana moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah’s ballet program, and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet and a Bachelor of Science in Economics. She was surprised to discover a love of teaching accidentally when a friend of hers handed off a full teaching schedule to pursue a job offer in L.A., and she has never looked back! She has taught all over the Salt Lake Valley and northern Utah, and truly loves to spend her time laughing and moving with young artists. Her love of storytelling is what drew her to ballet in the first place, and it is what she hopes to pass on to her students!

Catherine Pray
Company Ballet & Tap Instructor
Miss Catherine started dancing at the age of three in her hometown of West Jordan, Utah. She trained in Ballet, Tapp, and Jazz. She started apprentice teaching at 14 at the Royal School of Dance in West Jordan. She continued teaching to work her way through school earning a Dual Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico and a JD from the New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. During college and grad school, she taught numerous dance classes and continued her training with the dance department at the University. She was invited by Bill Evans to attend the International Tap Festival as a guest. Miss Catherine has held a wide variety of positions in the Ballet field, she has not only performed, taught, and choreographed, she also ran the Boston Ballet’s Residential Summer Program. She has continued to gain skills and certifications in ballet and most recently became certified to teach all levels of Progressing Ballet Technique. Catherine is currently an E-discovery attorney and Ballet teacher.

Christian Tippetts
Company Ballet Instructor
Christian Tippetts is a dance artist, teacher and choreographer who was born and raised in Utah. He began formal dance training at Alta High School where he was a member of the school’s ballroom team. After graduation he pursued a BFA in dance from Utah Valley University which he completed in 2017. While at UVU, Christian was privileged to be a member of the university’s Repertory Ballet Ensemble for four seasons. His guest artist credits include work with Utah Regional Ballet, Central Utah Ballet and South Pointe Ballet, among others. Christian is currently a company member of Chrysalis Ballet where he has danced since 2023. He loves to instill a passion for dance in all of his students and believes in making every dancer shine. Christian is incredibly grateful to be teaching at Studio 56.

Madison McGill
Academic & Academy Instructor
Madison started dancing at the age of 3 at Studio 56. She has trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, and tumbling. She was a member of the Drill Team at Murray High School. Madison was mentored thought the Studio 56 Junior Assistant program where she developed a passion for teaching. She is currently attending Salt Lake Community College with a focus in Buisness. Madison is excited to help her students grow and find their love for dance as she has.

Rebecca Richards
Academy & Company Ballet Instructor
Rebecca grew up dancing in the small town of Vernal Utah. Her love for dance grew in the positive and encouraging atmosphere of Powerhouse Dance and she aims to create this same attitude of confidence and courage in her students. Rebecca loves dance of all types, and Ballet is her favorite. She spent her summers going to ballet camps and workshops, and loving every minute. Recently, Rebecca graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with minors in Dance and Nutrition. Along with dance, Rebecca is passionate about health and fitness. Rebecca is excited to teach at Studio 56 to share her enthusiasm for dance and life with her students.

Jaysalee Haupt
Company Instructor
Since the age of 3 Jaysalee has had a love for dance. She has won numerous awards at competitions and conventions including an assistant position and scholarship with Tremaine Dance convention, national solo and group titles, college scholarships and best choreography awards. Jaysalee worked as a dancer in the popular movie High School Musical 2 and has had the opportunity to assist and work closely with Liz Imperio. Along with Teaching at local studios, She has taught at mini conventions and choreographed at Payson and Orem High School. Jaysalee Loves teaching all ages and styles and is excited to share her love of dance with the dancers at Studio 56!!

Maddy Thomas
Academy & Company Hip Hop Instructor
Maddy Thomas is a dedicated hip hop dancer, choreographer, and educator with over 18 years of experience immersed in the culture and movement of hip hop. Her training spans foundational street styles including popping, locking, New Jack Swing, house, and breaking. Starting her journey at a local studio in West Jordan, Utah, Maddy quickly fell in love with hip hop's raw energy and cultural depth, entering her first freestyle battles at just 12 years old.
With a decade of teaching experience, Maddy is deeply committed to preserving and honoring the roots of hip hop in every class and performance. She brings both technical precision and cultural authenticity to her choreography, ensuring that each routine reflects the true essence and principles of the hip hop movement.
Beyond the studio, Maddy is a lifelong student of hip hop’s history and culture. She believes in educating dancers not just on how to move, but why we move — keeping the spirit of the culture alive through knowledge, community, and expression.

Courtnee Hogan
Academy & Company Tumbling Instructor
Courtnee was a gymnast for 13 years at Academy West Gymnastics. Through gymnastics she practiced ballet techniques and gained knowledge of being able to make movement flow from one to another with ease. She is currently a member of UXC’s open level four cheer team and has 2 years all star cheer experience, 2 years of high school cheer experience at Bingham, and 1 year collegiate cheer experience at SLCC. Her teaching experience includes currently teaching the special needs cheer team at UXC, 2 years of pre team gymnastics, and 2 years preschool tumbling director.

Milla Wintch
Academic & Academy Instructor
Ms. Milla started at Studio 56 in November 2022 and has loved every minute! Milla fell in love with dancing at the age of 4, and then danced at Children's Ballet Theatre from ages 5-15 learning ballet, character, and jazz. Afterwards, Milla danced for Murray High's Dance Company from ages 15-18 where she fell in love with choreographing. Milla also taught swim lessons at The Murray Park Center for 4 years specializing in the 3 year old class. Outside the Studio Milla works as a dress consultant at Mary's Bridal. In her spare time she enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and sewing. Milla is excited to share her love and passion for dance with her students!

Carmen Montemayor
Academy Instructor
Carmen started dancing when she was 3 years old. Training in various styles including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip hop, contemporary, and musical theater. Eventually taking gymnastic and cheerleading lessons, Carmen fell in love with dance and expressing herself through movement.
She continued her dance classes and joined her studio's competition team. as well as joining her middle school cheer team and dance team. Going on to be a member of the drill team in high school. During her senior year of high school she completed her barre certification with Barre above® and started teaching classes.
Carmen found a passion for educating kids at her first studio job teaching creative movement, ballet, tap, and jazz. She is a new addition to Studio 56 and is looking forward to helping her students learn and grow this year.

Taylor Beck
Academy & Company Instructor
Taylor has been dancing since the age of 2. She has been trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, tap, modern, and hip hop. As a child, she trained and competed in studios, and was captain of her high school's drill team. After high school, she was a part of the dance program at BYU for two years, where she learned that her true passion was to teach in the studio. Taylor taught at Onstage Dance Studio in St George, Utah for six years, and worked with the competitive teams and dancers there. She loves taking classes (as much as teaching) and continues to train and further her dance education any chance she gets. Taylor has always had a love for dance, but even more so a passion for sharing her love of dance with her students!

Abby Halls

Abby has been a part of Studio 56 Dance Center since the age of 5, training in jazz, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, and tumbling. Her passion for teaching began at 14 when she joined the studio’s very own Teaching Assistant Program (TAP team). No matter where life has taken her since, Studio 56 has always felt like home.
