ACADEMIC PRESCHOOL AT STUDIO 56
Studio 56 is excited to be offering an Academic Preschool program for those 3-5yrs in the Fall of 2010. This unique program will save you time and $$! It will incorporate academic preschool along with 45 minutes of structured physical activity into its daily schedule. Our Academic Preschool includes our Preschool Dance and Tumbling program. The focus will be on developing your child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills. Our academic curriculum is creative, exciting and challenging. SPRING CONCERT and COSTUME BALANCES
Spring Concert is coming up next month.. June 15th is dress/tech. June 16th is concert night. Just a reminder the concert location is the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in West Valley. Everyone's costume balances should be in by now. If you DID NOT turn in your order form the basic costume has been ordered for your dancer and the balance will ran on Friday April 30th. Costumes will be distributed mid May. I need everyone to step it up when it comes to good attendance. We want our routines to look wonderful for Concert so please make sure you are in class every week!! June is going to be tough with vacations so let’s start working hard today!!

Hip hop, plan to receive details in the next couple weeks regarding costuming.
DAD AND DANCER/TUMBLER ROUTINE
We are ready to get going on our FUN and NEW routine with our DADS. Here are the details on when we are practicing.
· dancers 8yrs &-up Wednesday’s 7-8pm (we will have Elite 8-9:30pm)
o May 12 & 26th
· dancers age 3-7yrs Friday’s 7:15-8pm
o May 14 & 28
· ALL DANCERS AND DADS
o Friday June 11th 7:15-8:15pm
o Dress rehearsal night time June 15th time TBA
FINALE
This year’s Finale for the Spring Concert will be performed by all TROUPE and COMPANY students. You will be learning this routine in your Choreography classes this month. We are going to be wearing our Concert t over our black unitards.
CLASS CHANGES FOR MAY AND JUNE
In order for us to put several of our routines together for concert we have to combined somel class days and times for May and June.. Here is a list of May's changes..
- Jr/Expess and Elite, May 21st and May 28th COMB BALLET. Elte Tumb 4-5, Ballet 5:15-6:15pm, COMB BALLET 6:15-7:15PM, JRS/Express Tumbling 5-6pm, COMB BALLET 6:15-7:15pm.
- Troupe 3, starting May 13th class will be Thursday's 4-5:30, we need to put together our ballet piece with Troupe 1. NO CLASS ON TUESDAY MAY 11th! This will stay the same through June.
CLASS PICTURES
We will be having class pictures Tuesday, June 1st at the studio. Picture times will be posted on the web under announcements in the next week or so. We will NOT be having regular class that evening. Several of you are in more than one routine. Please pay close attention to the times. A packing list and order form will follow prior to pictures.
NAME SPELLING CHECK LIST
We will be emailing and posting in the waiting room a cast list for the concert program and concert shirts. PLEASE take the time to check your child's name to insure proper spelling. Make necessary changes on the list by highlighting it if it is correct or correcting it in pen if it is wrong. Thanks, we want to make sure all names are correct before if goes to print!!
CONCERT TICKETS
Every dancer will be required to pay a “concert fee” for the Spring Concert in June. An individual will have a fee of $36, which will include 6 tickets. A family will have a fee of $42, which will include 7 tickets. Additional tickets may be purchased prior to the event for $6 in advance and $8 at the door. (This fee amount is different from last year). This helps us pay for our nice facility. This fee will run with AUTO pay on June 5th, if you are on a cash account please submit your fee by the 1st. COMPANY you basic fee has been figured into your Company payment plan. If you need additional tickets please order them by the 5th.
We will be having a competition again this year to see who can sell the most. So start spreading the word. Tickets will go home in June.
CONCERT BOOTH or ADVERTISMENT
If you are interested in having a booth or putting an ad in the program at this year’s Concert please Call or email Amy by May 17th, 261-3182/ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This year we have a fun calendar keepsake that will be our program.. This would be a great spot to put an ad in each of our dancer’s homes.
BANANA SPLIT PARTY
Just want all of you to know that we are working towards our annual Banana Split party. This party is for everyone that has their splits flat. We will be passing off splits starting in May and having the party right before Concert time. Hope to see you there!!
SUMMER BOOTCAMPS

4th of July PARADE
We have decided to NOT participate in this year’s Murray 4th of July Fun Days Parade. I hope you all understand that the summer is a great time for family fun and this year we will be out of town.
XTREME SUMMER DANCE CHALLENGE-XSDC

(Mandatory to all COMPANY members, you are already enrolled!) This camp is open to all STUDIO 56 members!! Camp offered to those 3 and up!! SUMMER INTENSIVE-SI
The last couple years we have be holding Summer Intensive in July and it has been a HIT!! Do to July being such a crazy month with two holidays we hold a one week Summer Intensive. We will be closing our doors for regular class, June 17th-July 11th (except for XSDC and BOOTCAMPS) for summer break. And reopening July 12-17th for a one week Summer Intensive Course and Fall class placements. This course will consist of your whole month of classes in one week. If you are unable to attend make sure to fill out a drop form to avoid being billed for tuition on July 5th.This year you can log onto your account online at build your very own schedule!! During Summer Intensive you will be taking regular classes in ballet, jazz, tumbling, tech and refreshing your ballet terminology. On Friday you will come and learn a ballet combo, jazz combo, and progressions to be demonstrated on Saturday at class placements. We encourage all those 5yrs old and going to Knd this year to attend. This helps us customize our classes for fall. At this time we will also be holding auditions to develop our Company teams. (MANDATORY IF YOU PLAN ON AUDITIONING FOR COMPANY, if you are going to be gone you need to talk to Amy ASAP!!!)Just a heads up that on Saturday those 8yrs and up will be required to take a written ballet terminology test. We pride in the fact that our students are knowledgeable in the form of dance, through art and terminology. Audition results will be posted on the web July 19th and Fall classes will start August 2nd. We think SI is a great idea, it will be like a mini camp. The schedule will be out in June..SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!
