STUDIO 56 ACADEMIC PHILOSOPHY:  Our primary objective is to offer preschool program that incorporates 45 minutes of structured physical activity into its daily schedule.  Our academic preschool includes our Preschool Dance and Tumbling program.  We focus on developing your child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills.  Our goal is to develop lifelong fitness and learning habits for your child.  Our academic curriculum is creative, exciting and challenging.  We offer individualized instruction based on a developmental level.  Our instructors are well qualified, experienced and want every student to succeed!

Discovery Time:  Children will explore materials and interacts with each other.  Teacher works one on one with each child.

Circle Time:  Class gathers for opening time including welcoming, calendar dates, patriotic songs, and positive character connection songs.

Centers: Students will rotate through Centers that are designed to build the following areas of learning:

·         Literacy Skills:  reading and writing are developed with phonemic awareness, matching the sounds of language to the symbols (letters) that represent the sounds.  We use fun, musical phonics based methods to teach the children reading.  Students accurately acquire a solid foundation for reading using concrete skills.  Students also practice forming and writing letters while holding pencils correctly.

·         Math:  Number Sense is developed by using manipulative objects.  Children classify, group and regroup objects; recognize patterns in sequences; identify numbers by the amount in the groups; and begin to understand addition, “putting together” and subtraction, “taking away”.

·         Poems, Nursery Rhymes, finger Plays: Children interpret words of selection with gestures and actions, as well as learning about rhyming words and keeping the beat.  Rhymes further extend understanding and use of the form and function of language.  Memorization skills re developed.  What a fun, exciting way to develop all these skills!

·         Art:  Art often reflects the literature of the day or seasonal themes and holidays.  Children explore and create their own designs with various mediums.

Music:  Children love learning with music.  They appreciate music in all its various forms by listening, singing and dancing to it.  Often students will join center for the opportunity to expand and clarify various concepts, such as “loud, soft”, “fast, slow”, etc.  Group musical experiences of singing together further enhance social skills.

Snack: A snack bucket will be sent home each day.  This way each student may take a turn bringing his/her favorite healthy snack to share with classmates.

Movement Fitness:  45 minutes 1-2 times per week is devoted to fitness, coordination, and fun!  Children refine their eye-hand and eye-foot coordination skills while participating in:

• Preschool Dance:  There is a combination of styles offered in this 45min class.  The dancers will experience Jazz, Ballet, Creative Movement and Locomotor skills.  Each dancer will take a marvellous journey through our theme based program.  They will do everything from travelling around the world to marching in a parade.  Preschool Combo provides skills in listening, following directions and personal expression.  Ballet shoes are worn.

·     Preschool Tumbling:  This 45min class is especially designed to stimulate and develop motor skills, strength, coordination and awareness through movement.  This class will motivate your child to move, bend, balance, stretch and EXCEL!!   

3-4yr old class

·         Tuesday and Thursday 9-12pm

·         Tuesday is Dance, Thursday is Tumbling

4-5yr old class

·         Monday, Wednesday and Friday

·         Monday is Tumbling, Wednesday is Dance, Friday is early out day

Tuition and Fees:

• $30 registration fee, due at time of registration
• $40 materials fee, due at September orientation

3yr old preschool  

• $70/month for (2x/wk)
•  $95/month adding on dance or tumbling (a $15 discount) 
• $115/month adding on dance AND tumbling (a $15 discount)
• $10 discount if you sign up to co-op one a month 

4yr old preschool 

• $105/month for (3x/wk)
• $130/month adding on dance or tumbling (a $15 discount)
• $150/month adding on dance AND tumbling (a $15 discount) 
• $20 discount if you sign up to co-op twice a month 

·         10% off if you pay in full when you register

·         2^nd child gets $5 off tuition per month
